- Focus on your keywords
Filter out keywords. Make use of keywords/phrases that are relevant to your site. Adjust your keywords properly in various pages of your website. Remember don’t overdo it. Do not repeat keywords uselessly. Fit them into title or headings or links.
- Do not cheat Google
Follow white hat SEO strategies and ignore black hat SEO strategies. Google is a smart search engine. Do not cheat Google. Always follow Google guidelines to stand in their ranking.
Users need something that is elaborative. They are in the search of content rather than design. People will never look at your site if your site doesn’t have the content they are looking for. Each page should contain H1 tags and the rest paragraph i.e. content.
- Keep your code clean and neat.
Write clean human readable HTML code. It should follow the conceptual page structure, for example, navigation, H1 tags, paragraph tag, etc. Make use of <strong>, <ul>,< p>, <h> tags wherever required. And most important, the use of CSS for the artistic look.

Home page is a key to your site. It should summarize the entire website and give a compelling reason for the users to move on rest of the pages.
- Use of Title, Alt and Meta Tags
Every page of your site should have title with a short description of page and site title including keyword. Title should be of 60 letters. The page title appears on the search results . It should give users a clear reason to click on it. Also every image should have alt tag. Especially when the images are relevant to your page. Make use of meta description tag. Search engines use it to provide the text under the link to your page in their results. Make sure it describes the page in a way that explains why a user searching for your content would want to look at your page.
- Submit sitemap.xml
Make sure you have sitemap. Sitemap shows the hierarchy / structure of your pages. It is an xml file. Submit sitemap.xml file and give it to Google.
- Focus on internal linking
Search engines give more attention on links on your site and words used on the link. Avoid writing “click here” or “read more” or “see here”. It should be short phrase( for eg. “9 factors of internal linking”) that takes user to a particular link.
